Variation of the Jovian Magnetopause Under Constant Solar Wind Conditions: Significance of Magnetodisc Dynamics
نویسندگان
چکیده
It is generally believed that variations in the upstream solar wind (SW) and interplanetary magnetic field (IMF) conditions are main cause of changes Jupiter's magnetopause (JM) location. However, most previous pressure balance models for JM axisymmetric do not consider internal drivers, example, dynamics magnetodisc. We use three-dimensional global magnetosphere simulations to investigate variation under constant SW/IMF conditions. These show even without driving conditions, can exhibit dynamic variations, suggesting a range as large 50 Jupiter radii subsolar Our study shows interchange structures Jovian magnetodisc will introduce significant radial pressure, which drive The results provide important new context interpreting location dynamics, with key implications other internally mass-loaded and/or rapidly rotating systems.

متن کاملDynamics of Ganymede’s magnetopause: Intermittent reconnection under steady external conditions
[1] Magnetic reconnection at the terrestrial magnetopause is frequently intermittent, leading to the formation of localized reconnected flux bundles referred to as flux transfer events (FTEs). It remains unclear whether the intermittency of the process is intrinsic or arises because of fluctuations of solar wind properties. Here we use Ganymede’s magnetosphere, which is embedded in a background...
متن کاملEvaluation of Turbulence on the Dynamics of Monopile Offshore Wind Turbine under the Wave and Wind Excitations
In recent years, the use of offshore wind turbines has been considered on the agenda of the countries which have a significant maritime boundary due to more speed and stability of wind at sea. The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of wind turbulence on the aero-hydrodynamic behavior of offshore wind turbines with a monopile platform. Since in the sea, the wind turbine structures ar...
